There are currently screening programmes available and, if you are eligible, you will be invited by a letter automatically.
Bowel Cancer Screening
If you are 55-74 years old, you will be invited by the screening programme automatically. If you 70 or over and would like to have screening, you can ring 0800 707 6060 to book an appointment.
Please note that this screening is aimed at people who are currently not having any bowel symptoms.
Breast Cancer Screening
Currently women between the ages of 50 and 70 are eligible for screening. You will get an invitation from the screening authority before your 53rd birthday. At any age, if you have any breast symptoms, please contact the surgery to book an appointment. This screening has been extended to include women in their late 40s and up to 73 years old.
Cervical Screening
We offer cervical screening for all women aged between 25 and 64.
But, cervical cancer is more common if you
- smoke
- first had sex at an early age
- have had several sexual partners or your sexual partner has had several other partners
- take immunosupressant drugs
