New Patients

Quote / Testimonial:

We welcome new patients to our practice.

Newly registering patients will be required to complete a medical history form and make an appointment to see the nurse or health care assistant. It is important you attend this appointment so we can obtain more medical information from you to ensure that when seen we know your medical history and any current medication you are taking.

How To Register With Us

Check you live within our catchment area.

You may print off a registration form and questionnaire, fill it out and bring it in with you on your first visit to the practice.

Non-urgent advice: Information for New Patients

It may take up to six weeks to receive your records from your previous GP.

You will be given a practice booklet containing all the details about the surgery and the services we provide.

Medical treatment is available from the date of registration.

You do not have to see the doctor you are registered with, however for continuity, it is sometimes beneficial to see the same person.

Temporary Registration

If you are ill while away from home or if you are not registered with a doctor but need to see one you can receive emergency treatment from the local GP practice for 14 days. After 14 days you will need to register as a temporary or permanent patient.

You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register as a temporary patient or permanently register with that practice.

To register as a temporary patient simply contact the local practice you wish to use. Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment.

You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
